Brilliant Recruiter ("we", "us", or "our") provides a boutique recruiting service that matches candidates with roles at our client companies. 1. Information we collect

We collect information that you provide to us directly, including:

  • Contact information — name, email address, and (if you choose to provide it) mobile phone number.
  • Professional information — current role, background, experience, and the kinds of roles you are open to considering.
  • Communication preferences — whether you have opted in to receive email and/or SMS messages from us.
  • Communications with us — the content of emails, text messages, and other messages you exchange with our recruiters.

We may also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit our website (for example, IP address, browser type, and referring page) for the sole purpose of keeping the site secure and functional.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Evaluate whether your background is a potential match for roles our client companies are looking to fill.
  • Contact you — by email, phone call, or (if you opted in) SMS — about specific roles we believe may be a fit.
  • Respond to your messages and questions.
  • Maintain internal records of our candidate network.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. SMS messaging program

If you opt in to receive SMS messages from Brilliant Recruiter, we will send text messages to the mobile number you provided, informing you about specific job opportunities that match your profile. Participation is entirely voluntary and is not a condition of any purchase or service.

  • Message frequency: Varies. Typically fewer than 4 messages per month.
  • Message and data rates: May apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.
  • Opt out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts.
  • Help: Reply HELP to any message or email hello@brilliantrecruiter.com.
  • Supported carriers: All major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories listed below in Section 4 exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4. How we share information

We share limited information only in the following narrow circumstances:

  • With the client company for a specific role — if, and only if, you have expressed interest in that role after we've contacted you. We do not share your profile with clients without your consent.
  • With service providers — vendors who help us operate our business (for example, email, SMS delivery platforms such as Twilio, and CRM software). These providers are contractually required to use the information only to provide services to us.
  • If required by law — for example, to comply with a valid legal process or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Brilliant Recruiter, our candidates, or others.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in, or SMS consent data with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Your choices

  • You can unsubscribe from email at any time by replying or using the unsubscribe link.
  • You can unsubscribe from SMS at any time by replying STOP.
  • You can ask us to delete your information by emailing hello@brilliantrecruiter.com. We will honor the request unless we are required to retain the data for legal reasons.
  • Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Virginia, or the EEA/UK), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Email us at the address above to exercise those rights.

6. Data retention

We retain candidate information for as long as you remain in our talent network, or until you ask us to remove it. If you unsubscribe from all channels, we will retain only the minimum information needed to honor your opt-out and to comply with our legal obligations.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved.

8. Children

Our services are intended for adults seeking professional opportunities. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify current candidates by email.
